Jakks Pacific
The beginning of a collection. Jakks Pacific plush were released in waves over many months, with stock being very limited and often difficult to find.
Australians only got to see the Summer and Spring versions of Deerlings for sale in stores. Needless to say, they make up the bulk of the collection. The Autumn and Winter Deerlings were even harder to find, with stock being limited to only a few stores in USA (and possibly Canada). Jakks Pacific also released Deerling as a Throw Pokeball Plush, which are about a third of the size their regular plush. |
Banpresto
Banpresto made several different versions of Deerling plush. Banpresto's plush are generally exclusive to Japan UFO machines.
Starting with the My Pokemon Collection (MPC) set, they're rather small with a ballchain attached to the back of their head. Sawsbuck's only plush were also from the MPC set, 1/4 pictured here. The regular-sized Banpresto UFO Deerling plushies could be considered the worst quality of all the Japan-released Deerling plush. While the fabric looks cheap and most details are literally glued on, it is still a welcome addition to the collection. Smallest of the Deerling plush, Banpresto made another ballchain plush, half the size of their MPC line. It is prone to falling over and getting lost under the shelf display. |
Pokemon Center
Said to be the first Deerling plush released, they are arguably the cutest set of Deerlings, and certainly the highest quality. These adorable plush were exclusive to Japan Pokemon Centers.
Made of lovely soft minky fabric and wonderfully detailed, this set is a must-have for any Deerling fan. The Musical Dress-Up Deerling was released as part of a promotion |
TOMY
Toy Factory & Bensons
Toy Factory produces carnival prizes, and we were lucky to have Deerling made by them in 3 different sizes; 11", 17", and 24".
I've managed to track down Toy Factory's 11" version. Bensons, I believe, is Australia's version of Toy Factory. The patterns used are virtually the same. Benson's definitely made the 11" and 24" versions, but no evidence has surfaced of the 17" plush as yet. Here we have the 24" Bensons Deerling next to the 11" Toy Factory Deerling. |
